Frequently Asked Questions

Question:

I know you're financial planners, but what do you do, exactly?

Answer:

We help people organize and understand their finances so they feel in control of their financial future and can make the appropriate decisions for them and their family.  We create an investment portfolio for each client that we believe will help them pursue their financial goals. This includes helping with things like budgeting, paying off debt, saving for a goal, investing, tax planning strategies, estate planning strategies, and planning for retirement.  It can also include helping to communicate with loved ones about money and strategizing about how to spend and save wisely.

Question:

What should I expect in our first meeting?

Answer:

During a first meeting, the advisors at Focus Financial Retriement Specialists will ask questions to get to know you and better understand your current situation and goals for the future.  While relevant account statements and a general understanding of your financial picture are helpful, you don't need to have all your financial details together prior to meeting.  After meeting we will work together to develop a financial plan and determine what the next steps should be.

Question:

Is there a cost for meeting?

Answer:

No, we believe everyone deserves access to sound financial advice.  There is no fee to meet with an advisor.  At Focus Financial Retirement Specialists, we get paid if someone invests with us.  To learn more, visit our Fee's and Cost section.

Question:

When and where are you available to meet?

Answer:

We understand that it's hard to meet during normal business hours, so we're happy to meet at night or on Saturdays by appointment.
